Polymer clichés

Photopolymer clichés (or polymer clichés) are engraved. The process of developing a photopolymer printing plate is quite simple and takes about 45 minutes to an hour to perform properly. It is important to have a workspace without ultraviolet (UV) light because the empty cliché material is sensitive to UV radiation. Achieving the correct depth requires a positive film with sufficient image density. You will also need a suitable exposure unit, line film and developer. Most polymers require two exposures; one with a film positive and the other with a line screen. After exposure, clichés / plates are then developed in alcohol solution or distilled water. After the cliche / plate is exposed, it must be re-exposed to harden the image area and then dried to remove moisture.
